It has been 5 months since the first COVID-19 case was detected in Bhutan- the pandemic continues to disrupt lives and economies globally. Different countries areaddressing the challenge in their own ways, with varying degrees of success.
By virtue of our great fortune, Bhutan has remained free of community transmission so far. Life in Bhutan continues by and large, undisrupted. Our success so far has been due to His Majesty’s leadership and guidance, and the collaborative efforts of our government agencies, private sector, and the people. We may also offer thanks to our guardian deities for the blessings and protection bestowed upon our country.
Our Calendar for August is a reminder for us all to continue being vigilant and responsible, resolute in our determination to protect and care for each other during the most difficult of times. We hope it serves to cherish all that is wonderful and precious in our country, remind everyone to put the safety and wellbeing of the people above all else, and promote these sentiments among our friends, families, and communities.
